Tachyn Labs designs camera interface boards for single-board computers — Orange Pi today, Radxa Rock next.

Hi, I’m Peyton, and I design Tachyn Labs boards. My goal is to make cameras work across every single-board computer ecosystem. Raspberry Pi cameras have the best support of any SBC camera, so the natural move was to bring that support to other platforms. Right now that means RK3588 boards: the Orange Pi 5 series today, and the Radxa Rock 5 series soon.

Our first product is the Orange Pi 5 Camera Adapter. Designs are verified against the official Orange Pi 5 pinout and bench-tested with Raspberry Pi Camera Module v1, v2, Camera Module 3 and the Arducam IMX519 hardware.

Our approach

• Hardware-only compatibility: the adapter fixes the connector and the I2C level, nothing hidden.
• No soldering. Plug the board in, plug the camera in.
• Direct support from the people who designed the board.
